Elizabeth Pinede, Assistant Principal

Ms. Pinede joined Maury as an Assistant Principal in July 2026. She has served in a variety of instructional and leadership roles throughout her career, including as an ELA teacher, Reading Specialist, Response to Intervention Manager, and most recently as Middle School Assistant Principal at Meridian Public Charter Schools.

In each of these roles, AP Pinede has demonstrated a deep commitment to advancing student literacy, creating strong, sustainable systems, and ensuring equitable access to high-quality instruction. A firm believer in the power of trust and collaboration, AP Pinede is passionate about building meaningful relationships with students, families, and staff.

A proud Hoya, AP Pinede holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with concentrations in Chemistry and Education, Inquiry, and Justice from Georgetown University. She continued her education through Urban Teachers, earning a Masters of Science in Education with a concentration in Special Education from Johns Hopkins University.

Outside of school, you can find her cheering on the New York Mets, listening to Broadway tunes, or relaxing by the pool with a good book.
