Rachel Schwartz started teaching at Maury, as a kindergarten teacher, in 2020. She is passionate about working closely with her students and their families to create a meaningful learning experience for each student. “I love to watch my students grow throughout the year and strengthen their confidence in themselves and their learning.”
Mrs. Schwartz grew up in Long Island, New York. She received a B.A. in Sociocultural Anthropology from Binghamton University, and then an M.A. in Early Childhood and Early Childhood Special Education from New York University. After receiving her graduate degree, she taught for six years in Jackson Heights, Queens, New York. She has been a special education teacher and Pre-K teacher and, in recent years, a kindergarten teacher.
Mrs. Schwartz loves to kickbox, knit and crochet, and go on long walks and hikes with her dog and husband.
