Corinne Carmichael | 3rd Grade

Corinne Carmichael joined the Maury community, as a first-grade teacher, in 2020. She taught fourth and first grade in DCPS for four years before coming to Maury.

“I strive to instill a love of learning and a sense of determination in my students, values that were instilled in me by my elementary teachers and that helped me achieve my dreams.” She always loved school and knew from a young age that she wanted to be a teacher.

Originally from New York, Mrs. Carmichael earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, Child Studies, and Spanish, as well as a Master of Education in Learning, Diversity, and Urban Studies from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. She taught third and fourth grade for three years in Nashville before moving to D.C. in 2016.
