DATE: May 19
TIME: 5-6PM
AUDIENCE: Parents of children in preschool, pre-K, and Kindergarten (children should remain in aftercare)
TOPIC: Challenging Budding Readers
Your child has been chomping at the bit to read for a long time. She loves letters, asks about words, and enjoys looking at books.
Should you work with her to start reading at an early age or wait until her teachers get to that in Kindergarten and first grade?
What should you do to keep her challenged if she is ahead in reading or advances quickly?
How do early reading skills correlate to future vocabulary and comprehension?
This workshop will cover all of these questions and will provide parents with developmentally-appropriate ways to challenge budding readers.
