Vanessa Ford, Think Tank (Science)

Think Tank is an inquiry-based learning class at Maury Elementary in Washington, DC that is based in Habits of Mind and Multiple Intelligence theory. Students explore many STEM concepts while using their “Smarts” and building their problem solving and thinking skills. Students in Preschool all the way through 5th grade take part in Think Tank.

In addition to running the Think Tank program, Mrs. Ford is STEM Coordinator at Maury, facilitating school-wide science and engineering units. She is the Chairperson of the National Center on Teacher Quality’s Teacher Advisory Group, an NGSS @ NSTA Curator and serves on the OSSE Science Leadership Team. She began teaching in 2002 and lives with her dog, husband and two small boys right in the neighborhood!
