Mr. Havner enjoys working at Maury. He is in his fourteenth year in DCPS and third year at Maury. Mr. Havner has taught all grades from PK – 8 with the exception of 3rd. Mr. Havner prefers second grade because the students become acutely aware of the world around them but still have one foot in childhood. Mr. Havner received his Master’s Degree in Education from American University and his Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy and Sociology from Franklin & Marshall College. He lives four blocks from Maury with his wife, Keira, and children Lilah (8) and Finn (4).
