Today there was a post on Councilmember Tommy Wells website that announced the winners of 7th Annual Livable Walkable Awards. One of the winners was Maury’s own Kathleen Donahue.
Yesterday, the National Science Teachers Association posted an article about Next Generation Science Standards and sites Maury Elementary’s Think Tank program as an example.
Currently in her 21st year at Maury Elementary, Asonja Dorsey loves her school’s genuine, family-like atmosphere, calling it her “own little piece of heaven on earth.”
Serving as principal since 2009, Carolyne Albert-Garvey was recognized as a highly effective leader with the prestigious Rubenstein Award. Nominated by public school educators, students, parents and the community, Albert-Garvey joined 30 other winners in DC Public Schools(DCPS) who received the $5,000 award Nov. 4 at the Kennedy Center.
