We are fortunate to have age-appropriate aftercare options at Maury!

Maury’s Afterschool Program Coordinator La’Troy Bailey offers aftercare from 3:15 to 6:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. Please contact her with questions at latroy.bailey@dc.gov or (202) 698-3829. Ms. Bailey’s office hours are 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

DCPS Afterschool Program at Maury ES

The Afterschool program at Maury ES offers an exciting opportunity for students in grades Pre-School thru 5th to participate in academic and extracurricular enrichment. Tuition fees range from $0.29 – $5.00 per day. The afterschool program at Maury provides students with opportunities for enrichment, wellness, and academic support. Staff concentratse on homework assistance and Math/Reading tutoring during the Academic Power Hour in efforts to increase school-wide test scores. Activities include Academic Power Hour, tutoring, arts & crafts and fitness programs, all in a safe, friendly and caring environment.

Activities currently include: A Sports Club, Arts & Crafts, The Glee Club and the Spelling Bees! More resource activities will be added/rotated in coming months to include Foreign Language, Horticulture, Dance Troupe, Computer Programing, and Chess Club!

DC Public Schools has collaborated with the Department of Recreation for a DPR Play Day” on the (9) Professional Development days that children are not in school- beginning September 18th. There will be 26 hosting sites within every Ward of the city. This service is free for all DCPS students.


Offered for children ages 3 to 7 with a child to adult ratio appropriate for students this young.
